The Director-General of the Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (MCO), Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom has urged Students’ Union Executives of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) to be focused so as to be great leaders in the future even as he was presented the “Certificate of Recognition as Icon of Humanitarian Services”.
While appreciating the University and the Students’ Union Executives for the recognition during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja on Wenesday, September 23, 2020, Engr. Nkom encouraged them to always do the right thing, adding that this is how great leaders emerge.
He said, “Be focused, make a good name because this is how great leaders start. Always do the right thing and keep up the good work”.
Earlier, Dr Nghargbu K’tso Director, Linkages and International Cooperation, NSUK who led the Union to the office stated that the students have come to show appreciation for the humanitarian services demonstrated by the DG to the educational sector in the University.
The Students’ Union President, Comrade Victor Affiku Tsaku on behalf of 32,209 students of the University appreciated Engr. Nkom for his humanitarian services in educational sector, particularly in Nasarawa State. He disclosed that Nasarawa State is now one of the four best Universities in Nigeria. He however made a request for assistance in building a befitting Union’s Secretariat.
The Registrar of the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientist, Professor Zacchaeus Opafunso in his contribution urged the Union to continue to strive to be the best and congratulated them for identifying one of the best in the mining sector.
In attendance to receive the guest were some Management Staff of the Mining Cadastre Office.
