Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office
The office was established in 2007, by the provision of Section 5 of the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act, (NMMA) 2007, following the Mining Sector Reforms of restructuring the then Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
The Office was established for the sole purpose of Administering and Managing Mineral Titles in Nigeria in a transparent and responsible manner.
It takes a maximum of 30 working days to process applications for the grant of Permits and Licences and 45 working days to process applications for grant of Leases.
Visit the site of interest, take the coordinate of the area, and present the coordinates to any NMCO nearest to you. The Information Officer will enter the coordinate(s) into the NMCO data base, which is displayed on the screen where you can see if the area is free or not at the time of checking.

You apply for Certified True Copy by: submitting an application addressed to the Director-General, NMCO stating the reason why the certificate got missing, attach an affidavit of missing documents from the court, attach photo copies of the certificate (if available), attach evidence of payment of the processing fee.

Yes, it is mandatory, that all application documents be submitted in triplicates; two for official purpose, one is acknowledgment copy for the applicant.

Yes, you can submit your application at the zonal offices provided your coordinates fall within that Geo-political zone.

A notification is sent to the email of the Applicant/ Title Holder, that the grant/ licence is ready for collection; that is why Applicants/ Title holders are encouraged to provide a functional email address at the time of registration.
